Welcome to the Grateful Sets search engine for Jerry Garcia Band live performances. Grateful Sets, which initially featured only Grateful Dead shows, now expands to include Jerry's work outside The Dead in his namesake band. While Jerry's solo work is currently chronicled here beginning with 1976, when the "Jerry Garcia Band" was officially born, pre-JGB additions such as Legion Of Mary and Garcia & Saunders are possible future enhancements. Grateful Sets is both richly powerful and intuitively easy to use, diving deep into Jerry's near constant musical forays with an evolving cast of bandmates. Noteworthy is that while Grateful Dead sets and song patterns have been easily accessible, at least in print, since Deadbase began publishing annual volumes in the mid 1980s, no such data repository existed for Jerry's musical work with his own ensembles. Only later did DeadBase begin including a GarciaBase, and even with the last few editions they only included it every other year. With Grateful Sets, Jerry is given the space his constant and insatiable musical muse deserves.

Combine as many criteria as you want to do targeted searching. Click on a heading below to see examples for each category.
You can enter an exact date to jump right to one specific show, but date searches can also be done using partial dates. In this example, the Year is left blank to see all New Year's Eve shows:
Location can be narrowed down by State/Country, City, and/or Venue. To see all shows played in a specific state:
After you pick a state, the City dropdown will show all relevant cities:
To search for a Venue, start typing and a list will appear:
If you have specified a State, or a State/City combination, the Venue list will be filtered:
The Song search offers numerous ways to find specific shows. As you type, a list will appear. Click on a song to add it to your criteria:
To find all shows that contain that song, leave the dropdown set to "Played":
You can add multiple songs, using different criteria. For example, shows where one song was played and another was not:
If you have more than one song in your criteria, you can check the "In This Order" box to narrow it down to shows where the songs were played consecutively:
Or more specifically, played as the show opener:
You can combine any or all of the criteria. For example, to see the shows from 1977 that did NOT have Estimated Prophet played:
